Up to 70% EEG Funding for Energy-Saving Air-conditioners!
Good news! The government has extended the Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) for another year, in a bid to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) here with tighter financial conditions and higher energy prices.
The EEG was launched September 2022 and aims to help businesses within the Food Services, Food Manufacturing or Retail sectors to cope with rising energy costs, through co-funding investments in more energy efficient equipment.
The EEG initiative provides funding of up to 70 per cent for the implementation of pre-approved, energy-efficient machinery by SMEs operating in the food services, food manufacturing, and retail sectors. Assistance is capped at S$30,000 per company annually.
With the extension, applications for the EEG will be open to Mar 31, 2024.

Step 2: Submit Grant Application on GoBusiness Portal
Step 3: Accept Letter of Offer on GoBusiness Portal
Step 4: Send us the notification of the approved grant
Step 5: Claim the grant on GoBusiness Portal
Air-Conditioner Technical Requirements includes:
- Minimum 5-ticks and using refrigerant with Global Warming Potential (GWP) <= 750 for split unit models (up to 10kW cooling capacity)
- Minimum 3-ticks and using refrigerant with GWP <= 750 (if available) for split unit models (above 10kW cooling capacity)
- Minimum 3-ticks and using refrigerant with GWP <= 750 (when available) for 3-phase variable refrigerant flow (VRF) models

Note:
From 1 Sep 2022 to 31 Mar 2024, companies will be able to submit applications for the purchase of energy efficient equipment through the Business Grants Portal (BGP).
Companies will have up to 1 year from the time an application is approved to purchase and install the equipment and submit claims for reimbursement. Once an application has been submitted, companies may choose to proceed to purchase the equipment before the application outcome. However, companies will not be able to claim subsequently if the application is unsuccessful.
Companies are reminded to carry out due diligence when engaging vendors, and not to share their Corppass with the vendors to carry out submission of any grant applications or claims.
